Horus HOVR 5-20x50 Scope Review: Budget Tremor 3 Scope
Will the Tremor 3 and Tremor 5 reticles scratch that long range shooting itch you've had at the range? Check out Horus's own optic, the Horus HoVR 5-20x50 scope. It's essentially a rebranded Nightforce with a choice of the Tremor 3 reticle, Tremor 5 reticle, or the original H59 reticle. As you might expect, the controls are precise and the image is sharp. It takes 30mm accessories, too, so you can drop this scope onto any of your rifles using commonly available mounts and rings.
~Budget is still $1500.

SWFA Long Range Rifle Scope Review 🎯 SWFA SS 12x42 & SWFA SS 3-15x42

A $300 scope that tracks as precisely as a $2,000 scope? We didn't just test the SWFA SS 12x42 scope in the box test; we took this model out to a mile. 1,760 yards. It was right on the money, running next to a Bushnell XRS-II Tremor 3, a Bushnell HDMR-II, and a Nikon FX1000. Its image didn't keep up with those more expensive scopes, but it was good enough to read mirage and spot dirt spray. If ...

    I have had quite a few pair of Keens over the years, and every single one comes apart, except for the Juneau Romeo USA made boots. Which are holding up pretty well. Their footwear is comfy out of the box, but they just fall apart. I have owned multiple Targhees, H2 newports, and more. The quality has really suffered over the past few years. They ALWAYS split and peel at the seams. I keep contact cement around to fix them. As a matter of fact I fixed a pair just last week because of this. I have a pair of NXIS EVO boots which are starting to lose the sole right now too, they will be the next ones I fix. They are starting to split at the seem in the heels. Maybe someone at the company will see this and decide to take decisive action and fix this failure of quality. I am looking for new walking/hiking boots/shoes right now. In years past I would find a pair of keens I liked and purchased them. No looking around for other brands, But now Keens are no longer at the top of my list.

    Would you say this one is sturdy enough for holding on somewhat longer distance targets when shooting or would you choose the Midas 32 over the 29?

    • @SocialRegressive
      @SocialRegressive 4 дня назад

      The 29 is a very sturdy platform. I would certainly use this in the field. If your rifle is a big mamma-jamma or if your shots are beyond 1000 yards, then the 32 will provide that extra edge of stability.

      Depending on eye relief, you might not see the whole image. Use the app on your phone or tablet to get a live view of what the camera sees. You'll need to move the camera forward and backward to try to nail the right spot. It's easiest with low- power scopes.

    Beginner question here....I've been told i cant load one of these modern long high BC bullets in a .243 cartridge because the bullet will have to be seated deeper into the case in order to fit in the chamber, and that that will be to far into the case. Also, that i will need a faster twist to even shot them. Anyone help please. Can a bullet be seated to far into a case that it won't fire out and will damage or blow up the barrel?

    • @SocialRegressive
      @SocialRegressive 6 дней назад

      Great questions. .243 is an excellent case for long bullets. There is plenty of capacity for a decent powder charge under a big bullet. Here are the real questions to ask yourself: (1) Do you have the right twist rate? You will need a 1:7 or 1:8 to stabilize the big VLDs (103gr+). (2) Are you prepared to figure out a proper powder charge? You'll need to use Quickload or GRT (free!) to determine your max charge and which powders will work best.

  • @ahole5407
    @ahole5407 8 дней назад

    This video is a classic example of when dealers start a campaign to bad mouth a company. Arken is direct sales and the margins are not dictated by dealers like most all other manufacturers. This was on purpose because Arken came about when a guy and his friend who was in Seal Team 1 got together and talked about how they could give consumers the products tgey had been asking for without being screwed over. Dealers will mark up an item based on features and its all done under contract with a manufacturer. Had Arken done the same thiese optics would be in the $1,800 to $2,200 range. Example is Vortex having an optoc that costs tgem $200 selling to dealers for s$800 and dealers putting a $1000 markup after marketing campaigns where tgey send out a ton of free optics to "influencers". The same happens when dealers lose sales to a company like Arken that gives them the middle finger. Dealers lose sales to a better optic at a lower price and they call upon their same "influencers" to demonize that company. Dont fall for this garbage.

      Here's what it takes to create a 30-minute video: 4 hours of research and data preparation; 30 minutes of lighting and camera prep; 1 hour of studio filming; 4 hours of editing and audio sweetening; 1 hour of SEO and metadata prep. This does NOT include the many hours of load testing, driving, range time, hunts, and b-roll. Factor in the cost of rifles, scopes, ammunition, bipods, etc., and you can see why the $50 I'm likely to make during the entire lifetime of the video does not begin to cover the cost.
